Distinguish between thermal conductive silicone grease and lubricating silicone grease

Thermal conductive silicone grease, also known as heat dissipation paste, is mainly made of organic silicon and is made by adding high-performance thermal conductive materials such as thermal conductive powder. It is used to dissipate heat from electronic components with high heating frequencies such as power amplifiers, heating transistors, CPUs, etc., allowing electronic components to operate in an excellent temperature environment.

Thermal conductive silicone grease is a highly conductive organic silicon material that does not cure after use and can maintain its lipid state for a long time at temperatures ranging from -50 ℃ to+230 ℃. It has excellent thermal conductivity, low oil separation tends to zero, high and low temperature resistance, water resistance, and weather aging resistance. It can be widely coated on the contact surfaces between heating elements (power tubes, thyristors, electric stacks, etc.) and heat dissipation facilities (heat sinks, heat strips, shells, etc.) in various electronic products and electrical equipment, serving as a heat transfer medium and providing moisture, dust, corrosion, and shock resistance properties. Suitable for surface coating or overall encapsulation of various microwave devices such as microwave communication, microwave transmission equipment, microwave dedicated power supplies, and stabilized power supplies. This type of silicon material provides excellent thermal conductivity for electronic components that generate heat. Such as transistors, CPU assembly, thermistors, temperature sensors, automotive electronic components, automotive refrigerators, power modules, printers, etc.

Application scope

Thermal conductive silicone grease, also known as heat dissipation interface material, is used to fill the gap between the CPU and the heat sink surface. Its function is to conduct the heat emitted by the CPU to the heat sink, so that the temperature of the CPU can run stably for a long time, extend its service life, and prevent damage to the CPU due to poor heat dissipation

In the application of heat dissipation and conduction, even two smooth surfaces will have gaps when in contact with each other. The air in these gaps is a poor conductor of heat, which will hinder the conduction of heat to the heat sink. And thermal conductive silicone grease is a type that can fill these gaps

There are various types of silicone grease on the market, with different parameters and characteristics having different uses. For example, some are suitable for CPU heat conduction, some are suitable for memory heat conduction, and some are suitable for power supply heat conduction.

The liquid part of thermal conductive silicone grease is composed of silicone and silicone oil. Most products on the market use dimethyl silicone oil as raw material, and the boiling point of dimethyl silicone oil is between 140 ° C and 180 ° C, which is prone to volatilization and oil leakage, leaving traces of grease on the circuit board. The phenomenon of grease detachment can make customers feel that the silicone grease is dry. Thermal conductive silicone grease not only has excellent electrical insulation and thermal conductivity, but also has almost zero oil viscosity, high and low temperature resistance, water resistance, and weather aging resistance.
